Grinding 4.0: Are You Coming?
This year, Industry 4.0 is the star of the EMO 2017. “Connecting systems for intelligent production” is the somewhat vague slogan of this year’s trade show in Hanover. So what does this mean? It means that in a fully digitized production facility, informatics and software components are connected with mechanical and electronic parts via a data infrastructure (internet/intranet). Sounds good – but it only works if the software systems being used have open interfaces.
Multigrind® Horizon Compatible Grinding Software
Haas’ “Multigrind® Horizon” grinding software, which is supplied with all of our Multigrind® grinding machines, has a completely open interface. It offers our customers in the Industry 4.0 environment maximum flexibility and compatibility and is also extremely user-friendly. Regardless of whether you need to grind a milling tool today and a cutting tool tomorrow, Multigrind® Horizon always has the right software module for the job and effortlessly communicates with our grinding machines and automation units.
An Intelligent Production Unit
It goes without saying that our grinding software also gets along with the new, extra-large Haas tool magazine, which has space for up to 70 grinding wheels and 20 coolant guards. As a result, our users can turn their Haas grinding center into an intelligent, self-contained production unit. Our customers in the aerospace industry, to name just one example, manufacture complete families of parts and multiple product variations this way, with minimal setup costs and maximum dimensional accuracy and productivity. How does this work? You can find out at the Haas stand at the EMO!
